Why I will never have the perfect lawn
I admire people who take excellent care of their properties. I aspire to be one of those people, but this Spring, I have come to a disappointing realization....I will never have the perfect lawn.As much as I try, I am just too busy to keep up with it. My neighbor is retired and he mows his lawn at least twice a week, (if not more in the Spring). I mowed my lawn yesterday for the first time in two weeks. It had become quite tall.
I tilled and seeded some bald spots that appeared last Summer. They are growing back nicely. I still have more bald spots to repair, but I'm beginning to think that isn't going to happen.
This Summer, for the first time ever, I am paying someone to mow my lawn during the Summer Camping Season at PMBC. It makes me feel snooty, but I must admit that I'm relieved to have one less thing to worry about.
When I retire, I'm going to spend a lot of time cultivating my grass. But for now, I think I'll work and feed my family. They're hungry people.
