4 chapters a day

A few weeks ago while in a Christian Bookstore, I came across a chart that allows you to keep track of your progress in reading through the Bible in one year's time. The chart encourages you to read three chapters a day and five on Sundays. In doing so, it will take one year to read the Bible.

I decided to read four chapters a day instead. That way every day is the same, and it should take me less than a year to finish. I don't allow myself to get more than three days behind. That way I won't be playing catch-up. My wife has agreed to keep this same reading pace, so we can keep each other accountable. Plus, it's fun to have company.

A few others have also said they are going to give it a try. I'm curious to see how many drop off during Leviticus.

i'm doing the same sort of thing...my church gave away bible reading calenders for new years. you read a chapter of the old testament, psalms, proverbs, and 2 chapters of the new testament a day.i'm liking doing it so far, its a good reminder to read the bible everyday.

Ah, I was totally thinking of posting an entry about reading the Bible and how one should begin doing it. I've heard this: start with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Then read Acts and Romans... Then who knows from there. I was wondering what you thought of that, or do you start right at Genesis?

I am hoping that no one drops off but if they do then oh well I guess they fail at life. Anyway, thanks for including me in this. It is a good thing to do.

leviticus!!!! minus the few song/poems the repetitive rules drove me nuts. my ot teacher used to have the best jokes for that book, i forget them now though. They were just kinda sarcastic remarks about how students hated leviticus.
Hope you have a great week. tell everyone i said hello. God bless.
