Worth the download

My opinions about former president Bill Clinton aren't a big secret. Still, I remembered hearing about a spoof video he made just before leaving office and have wanted to see it, but never did. The thought occurred to me today that I could probably find it somewhere online, so I Googled "bill clinton farewell video" and found it.

Here's the link http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/multimedia/clinton-final-days.mov. It takes a minute or so to download using a high-speed connection, but it's worth the wait.

And with that, I bid you farewell for a few more weeks. I will begin posting regularly again sometime after the third week of August. Enjoy your Summer!

Hornet

Andrea and I decided to take some time this morning to give our cars a mid-summer cleaning. We vacuumed, washed and waxed both the truck and the van. Of course the kids wanted to be outside with us so they could get sprayed with the hose. It was a nice family moment.

Until.....

As we were putting the hoses away, something buzzed by Hannah and landed on her toe. It was a hornet and it stung her. This is the first time she has experienced this kind of pain, so she shrieked and cried for quite some time. I tried to catch the thing and kill it, but it eluded my grasp.

The best part was Hannah's analysis of the event. While Andrea was putting baking soda on her toe, Hannah commented, "That bee should have been more careful. It's not my friend anymore."

Shark

I was telling a few people this evening that I'm not a big fan of fishing, mostly because I don't care to eat what I catch. Some people think that means I don't like fish and that's not what I'm saying at all. In fact, my problem is that I catch way too much at a time to possibly consume.

Observe the results of yesterday's outing.

Supreme Court Nominee

It has been major news today that later this evening, President Bush is going to nominate a new Supreme Court Justice. No one seems to know who it will be, so I would like to make one final push for my favorite nominee.

His name is Andrew Hackman and while he doesn't have any particular judicial experience, I'm certain he would make an excellent choice for the following reasons.

1. Andrew would have the largest shoe size on the court (size: canoe)

2. Andrew is willing to take the flags down at PMBC even in the pouring rain (which is a clear display of patriotism).

3. Andrew has publicly testified that I have super human strength (which shows he is of sound mind).

4. Andrew can almost grow a moustache (see above picture)

5. Andrew realizes that the most pressing need the court will face in the next session will be the uncontrolled migration of Monarch Butterflies over the Mexican border and I'm certain he will do everything in his power to keep America perpetually free of any monarchy.

For these reasons and more, I choose Andrew, Mr. President.
