Justifiably critical
Sometimes I can be very critical of TV and Movies. I personally believe that they are not intrinsically evil as tools for information, entertainment and communication, but rather are being used by the devil to corrupt Christians and non-Christians alike. In my experience, many people who share my same faith in Christ do not seem to agree with my assertion. (Or, maybe they technically agree in their heads, but that doesn't seem to prevent them from watching movies and shows that vividly display immorality).Click the quote/link below to see just how much TV has changed in just the past seven years.
"The study found that 70 percent of all shows included some sexual content, averaging about five sex scenes per hour. That's up from about three scenes per hour in 1998, and from nearly 4.5 scenes an hour three years ago. "
Our forms of entertainment are making us more accepting of that which breaks the heart of God.

We discussed this article in class today. And I brought up the subject that I try to watch wholesome television.. usually the Food Network and Home and Garden TV. And I was received by a round of laughter. I may be mocked for my values, but at least I'm not submitting to trashy tv. What ever happened to Full House? Maybe my peers will be singing a different tune when I become the next Julia Child!- JLE
As an avid T.V. watcher, I don't even have to click on that link to agree with the statement. There is far too much sex in television today and it's making it harder to find a show to watch that I won't feel uncomfortable viewing with my parents. In fact, I was just telling Nicole that some of my favorite shows are becoming so disappointing, because instead of being "normally" funny (if that even makes any sense), they try to see how far they can go & push the FCC.
So to that I say bring back Full House! Oh wait, it's already on 8 times a day. :)
I have to leave a second comment because how likely is it that two people mention full house simultaniously (I didn't even see that comment before I started typing mine)??
P.S. I love HGTV.
I definately agree with that. Most people agree but just don't care to try and change it or they just go along watching it. It's sad that it has come to this.
I'm one of those people who agree in their heads but I still decide to watch most movies anyways. I don't watch them all the time, but if it's a movie that I really want to see, I will still see it.
There is always ESPN, the cosby show, boy meets world,M*A*S*H, and TBS from like 4-8. there are good shows still on re-runs or not. its just that there are way too many suggestive shows on....but such is the society that we live in....let them pollute their minds, as for me and my friends we will watch boy meets world....ABC Family 2:00 and 2:30
