I have a few rules about purchasing gas, including my pledge to NEVER PURCHASE GAS HERE (see picture on the left).
I pastor a church in a community that was developed many moons ago by coal companies. If you know much about the coal region, you're probably aware that once the coal was gone, many of the communities that centered around it deteriorated. Such was the case with my community for quite some time, but pleasantly, Plymouth has been rebounding (slowly).
New businesses are being established on Main Street. Buildings are getting a much needed face lift. Community festivals are held regularly and are well attended. And in the midst of our town, toward the end of Main Street, stands this structure.
I'm sure that the people who own this gas station are hard-working and pleasant. I'm sure they love their community and enjoy being a part of it. But I would like to offer them a little advice that I believe will generate more business for them (including mine).
First of all, take the sheet with a slash through the number 24 down from your front display window. It has been posted there for several years and I think we all get the point that you hate Jeff Gordon.
Secondly, I noticed your new sign painted on the gas pump stating, "CASH ONLY. Drive-offs will be shot at." A printed sign would have been better. And maybe "shot at" could be changed to "prosecuted." (sign on pump can be viewed better by clicking on picture above)
Other than that, I would like to congratulate the owners on changing their philosophy on gas prices. For years they were the most expensive gas station around. BUT, for the past two days, they have been the least expensive. Is this price reduction aimed at gaining the business of picky people such as myself? I'm curious to know.

Oh my word. I used to always walk past that place and hop on the black rubber thing that is on the ground, that was 5 years ago and it has never moved! How in the world did you get the one of you on the side while you were driving?? Does the 24 really mean he hates Jeff Gordon? I always thought it meant that they weren't open 24 hours. Know what you should do, you should post a picture of when they put the car with the christmas lights up for their christmas decoration. lol
First I would like to congradulate you on your 100th post. Now I would like to coninue my comment. I have noticed this gas station whether going to yours or the Vnuk homes. I can't say I have ever noticed the sign threatening to shoot peopl but that is an odd sign. I did however notice the Jeff Gordon sign and agree with your suggestion of them getting rid of it. I also like baramarama... suggestion of putting a picture of the truck with the X-mas lights on it for Christmas decoration. I think it would bring out the the Christmas spirit in us all. lol Sara Garms
Happy 100! Gee, those signs appear to be made of paper, it would be a shame if someone "accidently" spilled a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee all over them. You should get one of those "clergy" placards, maybe they won't be so quick to shoot at you. GORDON SUCKS sticker on the bumper wouldn't hurt either, you can always put a "Have you hugged your child today?" sticker over or maybe, "my child was roofer of the month" or something. I think it would be funny to ask them if they are open 24 hours EVERY single time you visit. The closest gas station to where i live is about a block away and they are always the cheapest. That's a bit of a bonus, since I drive a greedy Jeep Cherokee.
ok pastor john i have a stump the pastor question for you.......recently i was talking to this girl in my class and she happens to be a jahova(yikes) witness. i asked her if she really bought in to the crap that Jesus was actully the arc angel michel. she said " yes..because he was..it says that in revelation"..i replied"sweetheart....no....Jesus is God come in the flesh" we wne ton for a while linger and then i decided to end it so i said "look i still love you but YOU ARE WRONG and thats it and im dont talking about it" the question is what are some scriptual reffrences i could use for this and proving thta the holy spirit is more than Gods "active force" and how do i prove that their "bible" is herasy? thanks
